In the early morning of today (22nd), a fire and explosion occurred in a vacant lot in a residential area on Haidian Road in Annan District, Tainan City, burning 11 households and 20 vehicles. Firefighters rushed to put out the fire, but 3 firefighters and 11 people were still injured and sent to the hospital. The fire is now extinguished and the cause of the fire needs to be clarified. The police said that the perpetrator, a 30-year-old man surnamed Yang, and the owner, a 43-year-old man surnamed Wang, have reported to the case and asked to come back to further clarify the source of the waste and the attribution of responsibility. The city government has detected no abnormalities in air quality and pollution sampling values.
