The Financial Supervisory Commission today (4th) approved the share exchange merger of Taishin International Commercial Bank and Taiwan Shin Kong Commercial Bank. After the merger, the surviving entity will be Taishin Bank. With assets of 4.7 trillion, it will become the seventh largest bank in the country and the second largest bank in the country with 204 locations. The outside world is concerned about the stability of the merger of the two banks' systems. Wang Yunzhong, deputy director of the Banking Bureau, said that the Financial Supervisory Commission attaches great importance to the replacement of the core system of the bank and has asked the Association for guidance. The guidance must be taken into consideration in pre-planning, in-process supervision, and post-event response. The Financial Supervisory Commission will also pay close attention to the system integration situation.
