The Philippines announced the demarcation of a territorial sea baseline at Democracy Reef (called Huangyan Island by China). Today, the PLA Southern Theater Command announced joint sea-air exercises in the territorial waters, airspace, and surrounding sea and airspace of Democracy Reef.
