Railway East has proposed to extend the Mahanagar Express route from Dhaka-Chittagong to Cox's Bazar. This proposal was sent to the railway station on August 17. If the proposal is approved, passengers from Narsingdi, Brahmanbaria, Comilla and Feni will be able to go directly to Cox's Bazar without changing trains.
